On behalf of our friends at Friends of the Salinas Public Library, we'd like to invite you to a special event. This is a fundraiser to help replace over 800 burned materials, which were lost in the fire at the John Steinbeck Library last month.

Join us for a day of books, refreshments, and a Fire Truck Tour with Fire Dog Sparky and Snappy the Tortoise after a special Story Time at 11am!

The Salinas Public Library and Salinas Union High School District Present the Third Annual High School Film Festival. The Salinas Public Library invites students to edit their films in the John Steinbeck Library's Digital Arts Lab. Winners will receive cash prizes. All submissions must be received by March 22, 2013.

Thank you for your patience as we recover from the damages, and a special thank you to everyone helping us out. We welcome monetary donations and books, especially children's books.

Please return any checked-out items at your convenience. There will be no overdue fees through March 25th.
