We are looking for the next Salinas Youth Poet Laureate!

Salinas Public Library has started the search for the next Salinas Youth Poet Laureate, aiming to spotlight youth poets in the community and provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents. Young poets between the ages of 13 and 19 are encouraged submit their original poems. Submissions will be accepted through April 14, 2024.  A panel of judges will select the finalists from the applicants, and one person will be selected for the title of Salinas Youth Poet Laureate 2024-26, and they will receive a prize. A Vice Laureate will also be determined from the applicants.
